My Journey from Fear to Achievement – A Story of Patience, Struggle, and Self-Belief

My name is Manob Basak, and currently I am studying MSc International Hospitality Management at Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) in the UK. Today, when I look back at my journey, it feels very emotional because this journey was not easy at all. It was full of fear, confusion, stress, and many challenges. But at the same time, it taught me patience, belief, and the importance of the right guidance.
Everything started when I first thought about studying abroad. I always wanted to do something better for my future, but honestly, I was very nervous about the whole process. From application to visa decision, every step felt difficult to me. I used to overthink a lot. I had many doubts in my mind like “Will I be able to do it?”, “What if I fail?”, “Am I really good enough for this?” These thoughts made me very anxious, and sometimes I even felt like giving up before starting.
At that time, one of my friends had already started his study abroad process. I was watching his journey, and that gave me a little courage. That is how I came to know about Eduvisors. After thinking a lot, I finally decided to contact them. I connected with Maesha apu, and she helped me open my file. That was the first real step of my journey.
From that moment, my journey officially began but it was not smooth. There were many steps like preparing documents, meeting requirements, waiting for updates, and understanding each process. For me, everything felt complicated and stressful. I was always worried if I was doing things correctly or not. I kept overthinking every small detail.

When it came to choosing the university and course, I made my decision carefully. I selected MSc International Hospitality Management because it is one of the top and in-demand courses in the university. I believed this course would open better career opportunities for me in the future.
After completing all the application steps, the most stressful part came the visa decision. That time was the hardest for me.

However, my journey did not end there. After arriving in the UK, I faced a new reality. I needed to manage everything on my own, adjust to a new environment, and most importantly, find a job. But finding a job was not easy at all. I applied to many places, faced rejections, and sometimes felt very disappointed.
But this time, I handled things differently. During my application to visa journey, I had learned an important lesson patience. I understood that good things take time. So, instead of panicking, I stayed calm and kept trying. I continued applying, improving myself, and not giving up.
After a lot of struggle and effort, finally I got a job. That moment made me realize that hard work always pays off. It was not easy, but it was worth it.
When I look back now, I see how much I have changed. Before, I was someone who doubted himself a lot. I was always scared and unsure. But this journey made me stronger. It taught me to believe in myself, stay patient, and keep moving forward no matter how hard things get.

At first, I believed that choosing a high-demand course would automatically make things easier for me. I was a bit overconfident, thinking that getting a job would not be that difficult. But reality was different, I did not get a job easily after coming here. I faced rejections and struggles, and that experience changed my mindset.
I realized that a demanded course alone is not enough. To achieve something bigger, I need patience, courage, and the right skills. Success does not come just because of what you study, but because of how much effort you give and how strong you stay during tough times. So my biggest learning is never depend only on opportunities, build yourself strong enough to earn them.
