From Tangail to Hungary: A Journey of Setbacks, Lessons, and the Right Guidances
Featured
I am Khalid Bin Ashraf , currently pursuing my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management at the University of Debrecen in Hungary. Almost One and half year ago, I left Bangladesh with more than just a suitcase I carried uncertainty, setbacks, and a determination to build a better future.
My journey began with a clear dream to study in Australia. It wasn’t just my dream; it was also something my father deeply wished for me. After completing my HSC, I dedicated my time, energy, and focus to making that goal a reality. However, due to financial limitations and some family challenges, I had to step away from that plan. It was a painful decision. Letting go of a dream that meant so much to both me and my family felt like losing direction entirely. For a while, I felt stuck but I was still determined to move forward. I knew I could not give up on my goal of studying abroad. Looking for a quicker alternative, I turned toward Europe, mainly because of its relatively lower tuition fees. But at that time, I made a rushed and immature decision. Without proper research, I relied heavily on an inexperienced agency that persuaded me to apply to Malta. Unfortunately, that decision did not go as planned. My application was poorly handled, and I faced rejection. Not only did it cost me money, but I also lost valuable time and effort. That phase added a study gap to my profile, making my situation even more complicated. I found myself frustrated, uncertain, and questioning my next step.
But even after these setbacks, one thing remained unchanged I was determined to try again.

While scrolling through Facebook, I discovered an education fair organized by Eduvisors. I decided to attend, not expecting much but that decision changed everything. At the fair, I shared my entire situation honestly: my failed Australia plan, my Malta rejection, my financial struggles, and my growing study gap. Instead of judging or discouraging me, the team at Eduvisors listened carefully and responded with clarity and experience. They suggested Hungary as a realistic and affordable option within the Schengen region. For the first time in a long while, I felt hopeful again. Choosing my field of study was also an important step. Coming from a business background and having a strong interest in building a career in the business sector, I decided to pursue Business Administration and Management. It felt like a natural continuation of my academic journey and aligned with my long-term goals.
However, my profile was not without challenges. I had a significant study gap that required a clear and careful explanation. On top of that, there was a spelling mistake in my name on my academic certificates something that could have created serious complications throughout the entire process.

- Learned from a failed Malta application caused by poor guidance and turned it into a valuable lesson.
- Found a new direction and renewed hope after connecting with Eduvisors at an education fair.
- Overcame a significant study gap and critical documentation errors with careful planning and expert support.
- Successfully passed challenging written and oral entrance exams at University of Debrecen.
- Navigated complex visa documentation and embassy requirements despite name discrepancies.
At times, it felt like these small issues could turn into major obstacles. Looking back, I realized that these problems were not properly identified or handled by the previous agency I worked with. Their lack of attention played a big role in my earlier rejection. It was a tough lesson, but it helped me understand how important proper guidance and careful preparation truly are.
But Eduvisors approached everything with patience and precision. They helped me build a clear and honest explanation for my study gap and guided me step by step to correct my documentation, ensuring everything was accurate and aligned. Just when I thought I had handled the toughest parts, another challenge appeared the university entrance process. For my bachelor’s admission at the University of Debrecen, I had to go through both a written and an oral exam. The timing made it even more difficult. The written exam was scheduled the very next day after Eid. While everyone around me was celebrating, I was sitting with anxiety, trying to focus on something that would shape my future.
On top of that, I faced technical issues during the exam process. I was confused and unsure how to proceed, and in that moment, it felt overwhelming. But what happened next is something I will never forget. Even though it was Eid holiday, the counselor assigned to me from Eduvisors responded immediately and guided me through the situation. Their support during such a time was truly exceptional I had never expected that someone would be there to help me even during a holiday. That moment gave me not just a solution, but a deep sense of reassurance that I was not alone in this journey.
After successfully completing both the written and oral exams, the next major step was my visa application and it brought a new set of challenges.
Preparing documents for Europe is not simple; it requires accuracy, detail, and strict compliance. In my case, the situation was even more complicated because of the name discrepancy in my academic certificates. It meant extra verification, additional paperwork, and the constant fear that even a small mistake could affect my chances. At that point, Eduvisors supported me thoroughly. They guided me step by step in preparing every document, making sure everything was accurate, complete, and properly aligned with embassy requirements. What felt overwhelming at first became manageable because I had the right guidance. With their help, I was finally able to submit my application to the embassy with confidence.
But the journey did not end there the next big challenge was the visa interview.
By then, Eduvisors had already prepared me through several mock interview sessions. Those sessions made a real difference. I learned how to present my story clearly, how to answer confidently, and how to handle difficult or unexpected questions. So when the actual interview day arrived, I was ready. Their guidance transformed my nervousness into confidence, and for the first time in a long journey, I felt fully prepared to face the moment that mattered most.
I applied for the September intake, a period known for heavy application pressure. The waiting period for my visa decision was one of the most stressful times of my life. Days felt like weeks, and slowly, doubt started to take over. After everything I had been through, I feared another rejection.
But life had other plans.

One unexpected day, I received the news my visa was approved. It was a moment beyond words. All the stress, fear, and uncertainty suddenly turned into relief and happiness. It felt unreal, like everything had finally fallen into place. Today, as I continue my studies in Hungary, I often reflect on my journey. It was not easy, and it was far from perfect but it made me stronger. I learned that setbacks are not the end, that even lost time can be rebuilt, and that the right guidance can completely change your path.
Eduvisors played a crucial role in my success. From helping me choose the right country to preparing me for interviews, fixing critical documentation issues, and managing the application process professionally they turned my uncertainty into opportunity. This is my story a journey from a small area of Tangail to Hungary, built on persistence, lessons learned from mistakes, and one right decision that changed everything.
