Hi, I am Md Marwan Mahi, and I feel truly proud and lucky to be currently studying BSc in Vehicle Engineering at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics under the prestigious Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship 2025. Receiving this scholarship has been a life changing milestone for me. It is not only a recognition of my hard work and dedication, but also an opportunity that has allowed me to step into an international academic environment, experience new cultures, and make my family proud by achieving something they have always supported and believed in.

As a creative individual, I am drawn to the sports car industry, as designing racing cars is my paramount aspiration. As a youngster, I had an affection for automobiles. This fascination started when my father gifted me my first Hot Wheels car, a yellow “Mustang”. It deepened as I disassembled toy cars to understand how they work, and my parents encouraged this curiosity. This inspired my pursuit of vehicle engineering, with a concentration on race cars, particularly in lightweight design. Bangladesh is the third largest country in South Asia, yet import taxes on sports cars triple their cost. Economic and political turmoil are affecting the Bangladeshi automotive sector. I want to change this while advancing my career in this dynamic industry.

I was looking for an opportunity that would help me achieve my goals while also reducing the financial burden on my family. As my father is retired, it was important for me to find a way where my family would not have to bear the cost of my education and living expenses. That is why I was specifically searching for a government scholarship that would allow me to manage my studies independently with proper financial support.

During my research, I came across a prestigious European scholarship in Hungary the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship, which covers tuition fees, living expenses, and medical support throughout the entire duration of the bachelor’s degree. I also got to know that many students from Bangladesh apply for this scholarship every year, but only a limited number of students are selected, which made it even more competitive.

I discussed this opportunity with my seniors who were already studying in Hungary under this scholarship. After getting a clear understanding of the process, I decided to apply, as the eligibility criteria aligned well with my profile. Additionally, I achieved an overall IELTS score of 7.5, which further strengthened my application.

Although I met all the requirements and had my documents ready, I wanted proper guidance to ensure everything was done correctly. I came to know that one of my cousins, who is already studying in Hungary, had completed her entire process through Eduvisors. She recommended them highly, saying they are experienced and reliable. Based on her suggestion, I decided to seek their guidance.

I selected two universities for my application, with my first priority being the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and my second choice the University of Debrecen. I chose these institutions because they are well known for their strong academic reputation and practical, industry oriented experience to vehicle engineering education, which aligns well with my career goals.

The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship application usually opens in mid-November and continues until mid-January. My target was the September 2025 intake. I contacted Eduvisors in early October 2024, and they guided me through the entire process. They provided me with a checklist, and within one month, I managed to gather all the required documents, including some that I needed to collect from my college. With their support, I successfully submitted my application.

After submitting my application, I submitted all the required hard copies to the Ministry of Education in Bangladesh and started waiting for the nomination result from Bangladesh. In March 2025, I found out that I was ranked 66th among the top 100 nominated candidates from Bangladesh. My happiness had no bounds as it was the first major step toward my dream. After that, I started preparing for the next stage, which included both written and oral interviews of my chosen university. I received my interview date from the university and gave my best performance. However, I was very nervous about the outcome, as I knew that even after being nominated, final selection for the scholarship opportunity was not guaranteed. Finally, in June 2025, after the university’s evaluation, I was selected as a Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship recipient from Bangladesh. It was a moment I can never forget. My family and I were extremely happy and proud at that moment.

Following this, my agency assisted me with all the visa-related procedures. I booked my embassy appointment, submitted all the required documents, and within just 15 days, I received my visa.
