Undergraduate Programs:

Malaysia Student Visa Requirements for Bangladeshi Students to apply for a Bachelor’s (Undergraduate) degree in Malaysia, students need to meet the Malaysia Student Visa Requirements from Bangladesh.

  SSC/HSC or O-Level/A-Level with a minimum 60% marks or GPA 3.50    12 years of Education from Bangladesh Relevant background is required depending on the subject you are applying.

Postgraduate Program:

To apply for a Master’s or (Postgraduate) degree in Malaysia, students need to meet the Malaysia Student Visa entry Requirements from Bangladesh.

A recognised Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualificationsMinimum 55% – 60% marks or CGPA 2. 50 in Bachelor’s Degree(Some universities may accept 2.00 CGPA)Relevant background is required depending on the subject you are applying.

PhD or Doctoral Program:

To apply for a PhD or (Doctoral) degree in Malaysia, students need to meet the Malaysia Student Visa entry Requirements from Bangladesh.

  A recognised Master’s degree or equivalent qualification       Minimum 60% – 70% marks or CGPA 3.00 in Masters Degree (Strong academic background in a relevant field related to the proposed research area) A research proposal is required (Publications if available)

Financial Requirements

Malaysia is very affordable in terms of living and has very low tuition fees compared to other countries like UK, Canada, Australia, etc. To apply for Malaysia student visa, students have to show a bank statement of 15 to 25 lac BDT with three months’ maturity.

Required Document Checklist

To apply for a Malaysian university or Malaysia Studies visa, a student must prepare and submit the required documents carefully. 

●       All academic certificates and transcripts

○       SSC / O-Level Certificate & Transcript

○       HSC / A-Level Certificate & Transcript (for UG)

○       Bachelor’s Certificate & Transcript (for PG)

○       Master’s Certificate & Transcript (for PhD)

All documents must be in English or officially translated

●       Valid Passport

●       Passport-sized photo

●       Motivation letter (Statement of purpose).

●       Financial Documents

●       Parents’ passport copy/NID (optional)

Important Note: If any discrepancy, mismatch, or contradiction in names across all documents, including certificates and passports, an affidavit will NOT be accepted.

EMGS Fee (Malaysia Student Visa Application Fee)

Malaysia student visa requirements for Bangladeshi students have to pay the EMGS (Education Malaysia Global Services) fee, which is a mandatory service charge to process malaysia student visa. The EMGS fee covers:

     

      1. Student Pass: 60 MYR

      1. Visa Fee: 200 – 300 MYR ( Approx.)

      1. EMGS Processing Fee – New applications (for IPTS/IPTA students): from 1500 – 2000 MYR

      1. eVAL fee: 159 MYR

      1. Medical Screening Fee: 250 MYR

      1. Health Insurance: 450 – 600 MYR(Various Plan)

      1. Multiple Entry Visa Fee: 20 MYR

    Bangladeshi students usually have to pay approximately 2500 – 3500 MYR as the EMGS fee.  IN BDT, this is around 75,000 BDT to 1,00,0000 depending on the exchange rate and selected health insurance service.

    Malaysia Student Visa Application Process Step by Step


    The Malaysia Student Visa application process involves several stages, starting from course selection to visa issuance. Followings steps are:

       

        1. Course and University Selection

        1. Receive Offer Letter

        1. Accept the Offer & pay tuition fees

        1. Submit Documents for Visa Approval Letter. Send the required documents to the university, such as:

             

              1. Passport copy

              1. Academic certificates & transcripts

              1. Passport-size photos

              1. Medical report (if required)

              1. Proof of application fee payment

          1. The university applies for a visa approval letter -VAL  (the university applies to EMGS)

          1. Receive Visa Approval Letter

          1. Apply for a Single Entry Visa

          1. Medical Check-up

        After receiving the Offer Letter from the university, students must submit specific required documents to the university for the Visa Approval Letter (VAL). The university will then apply to EMGS (Education Malaysia Global Services) on behalf of the student for visa processing.  After applying for the visa, the decision on the visa will be made within one day. Malaysia can be one of the top choices for Bangladeshi students for its early visa decision. Malaysia Student visa processing time is one day after visa application completion.

        Required Documents for Malaysia Visa Application

        For a Malaysia Student Visa application, applicants must prepare and submit the following documents. Make sure that all the documents are complete, accurate and up to date to avoid visa rejection. 

        ●       Duly completed original Visa Application Form (IM.47 – Pin. 1/97).

        The form can be downloaded from: www.imi.gov.my

        ●       2 recent coloured passport-size photos with a white background (studio version)

        ●       Passport validity not less than 6 months from travel date and must contain at least 3 continuous empty pages

        ●       Air Ticket

        ●       Financial Proof

        ●       Application Letter from the applicant stating the purpose of the visit;

         Invitation/Reference letter from sponsor or counterpart in Malaysia

        ●       Marriage Certificate (if married)

        Post Arrival Medical Screening

        A medical screening must be done within 7 days of arrival in Malaysia. Medical tests must be completed at EMGS’s approved clinics. If a student is admitted to a public university, then the student can get the check done in on-cmapus.

        Common Reasons for Malaysia Student Visa Rejection

        There are many reasons for rejection on Malaysia Student visa for Bangladeshi students. One of the common reasons for rejection is Insufficient Financial Proof. Students must show sufficient funds on the bank statement to cover living expenses, tuition fees or other expenses.  Another reason for Malaysia student visa rejection is incorrect documentation. Missing and wrong information dueing application can lead to rejection. Also, another important reason for Malaysia student visa rejection is any discrepancy, mismatch, or contradiction in names on any official document, such as a passport, birth certificate or any academic documents. In that case, no name correction affidavit will be accepted.
